HAPPY ESCALATOR MONDAY! This mall has one of the strangest escalator layouts I've seen. In the center court, the up escalator is on one side, and the down escalator is on the other. In order to film both escalators in the same video, I had to walk through the center court (where mall security is almost always present) and right past the SIMON Guest Services desk. Since this is a SIMON mall, doing just that is taking a BIG risk of being thrown out for videotaping, so I brought out the iPod Touch 4th Generation to do the job of filming it all. No surprise there, since SIMON Malls is a VERY cheap company and takes TERRIBLE care of their elevators, usually either going the cheapest route when repairs are needed, or not repairing problems at all (an example would be the escalators in front of Nordstrom at this mall, which are usually broken). I really don't see why the modernization was needed, but it looks like the elevator is now going to serve the basement for whatever reason, and a mod would be needed for it to be able to serve the basement. I have no clue what's going into the basement, but whatever it is, it seems SIMON was too ...
