Okay so I'm really hoping I get into a BS/MD program at basically any college. I'm planning to apply to the programs at Brown, Boston U, Drexel, Stony Brook, Rutgers, and VCU. I just want to know if I have a shot at any of these. Oh and if you know more colleges in the northeastern/middle eastern coast, could you please let me know? SAT Score (highest): Math: 800 Critical Reading: 690 (I am planning to take the SAT one more time in October to bump this up) Writing: 770 SAT II: Molecular Biology: 770 I know a lot of the BS/MD programs require Chemistry and Math II's so I will also be taking those in November. GPA: 3.72 Most likely in the top 10% of my class. AP's: US History: 5 I will also be taking AP Biology, AP Spanish, AP Literature, and AP Calculus A/B. My school doesn't off TOO many AP classes to juniors (and none to underclassmen). I still should've taken more though. Extracurriculars: -I'm a VP of an animal welfare club at school and I have ~50 hrs at the local animal shelter, plus more hours associated with this club (i.e. dog walks, family day, etc.) -I have ~100 hrs at a care center for seniors. -I'm about to start volunteering at a hospital, but they only allow me a maximum of 3 hrs/week. I probably should've started this earlier as well. -I was a dancer (an Indian dance) for about 7 years up until I freshman year of high school. Does that count? -I'm in the Science, Spanish, and National Honor Society in school -I took part in the Waksman Student Scholars Program at Rutgers University for one month last summer, but it also continued into the school year. At school, we have the Waksman club which I am the president of. -I've participated in the Science Olympiad (both in Regionals and States) and have a ribbon for 8th place (pretty low--we barely made it in that category, but I plan to change that this year). Uhm, yeah. That's pretty much it. I go to J.P. Stevens High School, with come extremely competitive classmates, in Edison, NJ. I just want to know if I can get into even one of the aforementioned medical programs (or others from universities not mentioned).... Read More »
